Born and raised in South Austin, I never thought I'd even consider living on the other side of "the river". We loved everything about South Austin and The Arboretum seemed so far. It would feel like a day trip to get to Burnet Rd from Manchaca. Austin had much less traffic and neighborhoods were segregated. Lake Travis is one of our favorite past times and now we enjoy Lake LBJ. After our first born turned 2, we crossed "the river", moved and grew to love Round Rock. Now our 12 and 14 year old girls love Round Rock too. We've been here 12 years now and hope to see our grandchildren raised here as well. My husband is one of those poor souls who drives across Austin to get to work every week day. He has the privilege of spending 50 minutes on IH35 every afternoon. We've been one for 25 years now and love our life together. We're a traditional Hispanic family who enjoys family time, have faith in God and believe in hard work.
